Charging Basics
Scan the QR code on the front of the charger using your phone’s camera, create or log in to your account, and follow the on-screen steps to begin your session. RFID cards can be used to start sessions at any ChargeUp-powered charger.
Open the ChargeUp app and use the map to locate available chargers nearby. If a charger is restricted, you’ll need authorized access to use it.
Log in to the ChargeUp app, tap your account, and select Charging History. You’ll see up to four months of past sessions including a summary of energy used.
“Available” means the charger is online and ready to use. “Preparing” means it’s authorizing or waiting for a vehicle to be plugged in. Additional statuses are shown in the app during your session.
The app doesn’t display live kWh progress during a session. Your updated energy total will appear once the session is complete.
Account Basics
Download the ChargeUp app on iOS or Android, or visit the web app. You can also create an account by scanning the QR code on any ChargeUp charger.
Open the app or navigate to the charger page by scanning its QR code. Enter your email and a one-time passcode will be sent to you to log in.
Go to your account settings to update your name, email, phone number, or address. You can also manage your RFID cards and change your app language from this section.
All you need is a smartphone and a credit card. You don’t even need the app. You can charge by scanning the QR code on any ChargeUp charger directly.
Payment Basics
Go to your account and add a credit card as your payment method. When you start a session, a small temporary pre-authorization hold will be placed and removed after your session ends.
Apple Pay is available in the ChargeUp mobile app for iPhone users. It’s not currently supported on the web app.
A receipt is automatically sent to your email after every session. You can also find all past receipts in the app under your account.
Pricing is set by the site host and varies by location. You can check the cost of a session before you start by viewing the charger details in the app.
RFID cards can be used to start sessions at any ChargeUp-powered charger. You can link and manage your cards directly in your account under payment methods.
When charging through a roaming partner network, a pre-authorization notification will appear before your session starts. Pricing is set by the roaming partner and may differ from standard ChargeUp rates.
